Facing severe situation of continuous depression and fierce competition in the global shipbuilding market in 2017, DSIC has pushed on scientific and technical innovation powerfully, boosted the ability and level on the intellectual property unceasingly, and achieved remarkable results in formulation and implementation of intellectual property strategy, application and management of intellectual property, and patent application and authorization, where there are a batch of proprietary intellectual property rights created and applied in production practices.
Up to now, DSIC has held 657 patents in force, among which, there were 109 patents applied in 2017, including 32 national defense patents; 87 authorized patents, including 8 national defense patents. The newly added output value of patented products was 5.627 billion yuan in 2017, remarkable in economical benefit. Meanwhile, DSIC intellectual property work has been acknowledged by the state, provincial and municipal governments as well as CSIC with many honors achieved. In July of 2017, DSIC was the first to pass the acceptance among 9 exemplary pilot units in the pilot work of the weaponry manufacturing units standardized management on national defense intellectual property organized by CSIC; the State Intellectual Property Office granted DSIC an honor title of National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise; the patent for invention “ Sediment Overflowing Ballast Tank with a Function of Anti-sediment” was rated as China Patent Award of Excellence in the 19th session; at the 22th session of national inventions exhibition, China Invention Association granted a silver award for “ship piping welding-before- bending smart processing equipment”; the patent for invention “a kind of large and thick plate efficient combined welding technology” awarded the only first prize in application from CSIC in 2017; the patent for invention” a kind of cargo hold structure” was rated as the second prize by Dalian government in the 2nd session of patents for invention.
DSIC has always paid high attention to industrialization of patented technology, among which, there are 90.5% patented technologies applied for tackling many technical difficulties in product design and construction so as to increase design efficiency and production efficiency and reduce production cost. In terms of marketing, due to backup of patented technology, marketing products have got more highlights and selling points, especially in the competitive climate of shipbuilding market, the patented technology has attracted more attention from the shipowners, which has enhanced DSIC’s market competitiveness and speaking rights in marketing.
The year of 2018 is the year linking the preceding and the following to fulfil the 13th Five-year Plan, also a decisive battling year for the military production of DSIC. The intellectual property work shall keep going deep, continue to do well in standardized management, boost the core competence of DSIC’s intellectual property unceasingly, and work closely to push innovation driven development so as to provide powerful support for DSIC achieving the high-quality development of military-civilian integration in the new era.
